I have to disagree a bit with Brown sugahlover, because youíre being a little to hard on the South. Growing up in Boston, MA, one of the most liberal areas in the country, I didnít see that much IR dating. I went to NYU for three years and again not a whole lot a IR between wm/bw and ww/bm.
When I went to school in Texas I actually saw a lot more dating between wm/bm and wm/bm. When my parents moved to Phoenix, a very conservative city, I saw a lot of IR dating between wm/bm and wm/bm. I did see a lot in Nevada and California for the most part, which are more liberal.
Being an officer in the US Army myself, a very conservative group, I see a great deal of IR dating going on, with a large number of wm dating or married to bw. I myself am engaged to an amazing woman who just so happens to be black. The kickerÖ.I am a conservative. Go figure.
Being a conservative does not mean you are a racist or misogynist. Also being a conservative does not automatically equate to being a Republican. I self ID as a conservative (libertarian really) and dislike both parties. I feel neither party truly serves the People, but instead serve only corporations and special interests. I found your statement to be very ignorant Brown sugahlover. Racism can be found in the extremes of both parties. Itís best for the sane and fair minded folks in both groups to condemn these people. In the end itís fine to disagree, but there is no need for name calling simply because we have differing opinions.
Anyways times are changing and they canít come soon enough. I remembered reading an article in the NY Times and was able to find the link. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/20/us/20race.html?_r=1
I found it to be a good read. The South has it fair share of idiots, but they can be found any where. Even in cities like San Fran or NYC.
So that concludes my rant.
