wow, what an introduction...i like that!

i'm pleased to hear that you enjoy club vent on lms. here's a brief history on how that section of the website came about. about this time last year chocolatesmoothie posted a topic that got some members in an uproar...lol. i actually liked the topic and defended her because i felt how can people really complain when she posts way more topics than everyone else (most of them people really enjoy)? that's when i came up with the idea of club vent. i was trying to find away to please everyone. i could understand what the other ladies were saying which was "they wanted a place to come to without hearing anything negative about black women", on the flip side, my personality is more like chocolate's and i like to vent as well. that's how club vent was a born. it's a section where black women can go to be sad and/or angry without having to apologize to the world for it. since some people don't want to read things like that because it ruins the positivity and good flow they are trying to achieve in their lives daily, a warning is put on the outside and very beginning of each club vent topic.

although we do disagree and argue sometimes, it's usually always civil and respectful.

i'm sure by now, you've noticed the club vent on lmstopics, make sure to read the vent topic rules. you may or may not be interested in those...not everyone is. if you are "sensitive" you should stay away from those. i like them though because it's a safe place for black women to get things off of their chest without worrying about people arguing with her about it. however, still general site rules apply there, it's not a place to go and say things like "f*ck white men" nor "i want to kill all black men" and bad prejudice things like that...i think you get the picture.

please post, we'd love to hear from you. once you get to 25 posts you can add a profile picture, send and receive private messages to members as well as all other member functions that you don't have access to now.

On a more serious note, I didn't know she had all that history I though that picture was just a random image I googled. When I say "she isn't half bad" I mean she looks really good (beautiful), and to me the picture has the perfect caption (it captures how I feel) as well to go along with that beautiful woman.

My username is well basically because I was sick of using my old one 'roboticchrist' (robotic because I feel that I don't have any emotions like a robot and christ because I feel like humanity has crucified me like christ) but the explanation for this one is much simpler, my ex and I were talking about something or other on some website and we kind of came up with it. A fresh take on a internet handle I thought, so I figured I would use it off and on. Makes me also not feel so ancient, he he.

Hmmm, tell about myself

I'm on disability (not crippled just epilepsy). I guess I am also a bit crazy, isolation and being an agent orange baby will do that to you.

I don't do too much, I love to read, draw, cook and visit various non american restaurants and I like to help others and I am VERY good at knowing what is wrong with people inside (and I didn't have to spend thousands on college psychology classes). I watch various movies, work out once a month whether I need to or not (inside joke - I don't like to work out) I mostly spend a lot of time thinking, trying to better my life.

no, not the title, which is lovinmysistas.com, but the description. thanks for reminding me, as i just noticed i had a misspelling.

this morning, i was watching one of the videos that was posted on the site, but don't remember which one. however, in the video it used the words "lifting the veil" and it hit me right then, that this is what this website is for, it's to unveil the mistreatment of black women. it's to put it out in plain view. to put it into the daylight for all to see. so people can stop hiding it denying it, and ignoring it, as if it does not exist. one of the things that i hate the most is when people want to hide the injustice toward black women, when they don't want to talk about, when they don't want black women to talk about it, when they call black women, bitter, angry and jealous, simply because she speaks up for her rights and mistreatment against her by every group of people on this planet. too often that mistreatment comes from her own race because she is too dark and her hair is too kinky for their liking. therefore, i think lifting the veil is an appropriate term for the description of this site.
