IDK.  You go through different phases in life.

At some point, you aren't a naive child anymore.  You realize that you are being treated differently from others.  You surmise that it's because of your skin color.  Then you buy into a system.  That preaches if you try your best.  You can be anything your heart desires.  But you soon realize.  That isn't always necessarily the case.

I would say from 18-19.  I was an extremely angry kid.  I felt as if I had been lied too, and that there wasn't any point to any of this.  So I probably would agree.  That "they have everything and now they have our women too."

I would say that I was Blessed to have an Eurasian roommate my freshman year in college.  He was a classical music major.  He say that I was angry.  We talked and he exposed me to a different way at looking at things.  I suspect if he was white or a black roommate.  I would have been angry throughout my entire college career.  I'm not blind to all things but I don't attempt to pass the buck either.

But honestly.  Things are a lot different now.  Than they were 5,10, or even 15 years ago.  That is why I would have to separate groups into generational blocks.  Most Blacks under 25 have no issue with Black men or women dating out.  In fact most see it as a first option.  I think it's older groups 30-50 that have the most issues with it.  Maybe it's because these are the groups that worry more about getting married and having kids.

how do you think you'd feel about white men/ black women relationships...if you were a Black man?

I suppose it would depend on what kind of black man I was.  If I were the type who felt like white men got everything they wanted and I couldn't get anywhere in life due to how the system is setup....if I had anger toward white men, I imagine i probably would feel upset to see a white man with a black woman.  Id probably feel like they take everything already....now they have to take 'our' women, too?

However, just being the person I am, I can't see myself being hypocritical and dating a white/non-black woman while giving a black woman with a white man the side-eye.   If i were going to hate "the man", I wouldn't want 'their' women either.

If I Were a Black Man...

I've been thinking, if I were a Black man, how would I feel when I saw a white man dating a Black woman?

we always hear how Black women supposedly feel about Black men with white women and how angry Black women get allegedly...but what about Black men?

Today I was researching and I found out that the majority of the public parks in the city that I live in were designed or owned by white men. Today these parks are predominately Black. Meaning, Black people go there to throw their parties, have festivals and when you research them, quite a few of the parks were land that, at one time, belonged to white men, some even owned slaves. That made me think...it must be really upsetting for Black men to have to constantly be reminded of how white men have dominated them through racism and oppression. I thought about how even to this day entire ethnic groups of mixed Black people exist mostly because of white male oppression and their conquest of African women's bodies.

I thought about how Africa the continent and the countries today are the way they are because white European men split Africa up piece by piece and basically told them what to call themselves..."okay you're going to be Nigerian, you're not Yoruba or Igbo, now you're Nigerian...now you're Angolan." I mean the countries only exist because rich white men created them. Now don't get it twisted our cultures have always existed, Black people across Africa had beautiful, strong, functional cultures and entire empires FAR before the European, but the modern model of Africa was created by wealthy European mean colonizing the continent (now how well this model has worked out is debatable)

It must be so upsetting to have to look at how privileged white men (as a group) are and how they're more likely to get hired, less likely to go to prison. I can't even imagine how it feels to look at groups of people like the Creoles of Louisiana, the Brazilians, the African creoles and see those European genes showing up and knowing that every drop of European blood from those white men who colonized and enslaved our ancestors is a representation of the dominant & privileged position white men have had...as a woman it's upsetting, but I think for a man not being able to protect the women you care about does something to you

then for some Black men to see a Black woman (today) with a white man, if you think of all that, it's not difficult to understand why some would feel uneasy about it. But I'm not saying that's an excuse to act ignorant...but

how do you think you'd feel about white men/ black women relationships...if you were a Black man?
