I agree with Choc.  I think A LOT of Black people have this false belief.  That the community or "world" we live in is the only world.  That is why I abhor the phrase "Blacks are the only community that does x,y,z"  How do you know?  You believe this because that is the "world" you live in.  Where Black issues are promoted constantly and talked about constantly.  So you feel this is it.

Trust me.  Jewish women are pissed that he is marrying an Asian woman.  Honestly, what race of woman in their right mind wouldn't be.  You have one of the richest men in the world marrying outside of his race.  Most women would see that as a slight. 

If this was a Black man.  Yes some Black woman and a few Black men would complain.  But the difference would be.  Because we live in Blakistan.  It would seem as if the entire world was against their union.  Similar to the Usain Bolt situation.

I also feel that he would have had a harder time getting funding.  His investors would have tried to rip him off.  He would have been pressured to sellout many years ago.

he probably would have walked away with $1 million around the point where the napster guy came into the picture.

a million isn't what it used to be.  I suspect if he got an offer for 100 million.  He probably would have sold.

if the guy had the exact same personality as mark z (like they showed in the movie the social network) then i don't believe at this point it would be that big of a deal.

i don't think his male friends would be telling him to be "pimp of the year" because they would already know that is not a part of his personality, and although of course there would be some gossip (just like we are gossiping right now about mark and pretending he's black), i don't think most black women would have that much concern about whom he chose as a wife.  for the same reason of everyone already knows that he's had her as a girlfriend "forever", since he started harvard, before facebook, and before we ever heard of him.  in other words when we heard of him that is who he was and him marrying her wouldn't be a surprise.

if he had a different personality, and we knew of him as being with lots of women and then he married an asian woman, i think at that point he would more than likely get labeled a "sell out".

the difference between us and white people is that their percentage of rich people is a whole lot higher than our percentage of rich people, and when one of our richest of the rich "marries out" it takes away more from the black community, money and resources that we need and puts it into the hands of others.  so i think it is more of a "problem" when it happens with blacks, and we also know of the self hate that we have, so it's quite easy to assume it was done because of self hate and not because of true love, even if it really it true love.  that assumption comes because of our history.

you kno what i didn't appreciate that article how did black women get dragged into this AGAIN? This has nothing to do with Black women and if he thinks that there aren't some white women / people who are upset that mark zuckerberg is married to an asian woman, he hasn't been looking very hard.

i was just coming to post the last article that i noticed you posted.  here's a quote from it:

The day after Zuckerberg's nuptials the comments sections of websites reporting the news included several hateful remarks criticizing the couple's looks and taking aim at their wealth. That's par for the course online, though. What really stood out is the series of comments with a decidedly racial bent.

On the Los Angeles Times website, a commenter named Waskoman exclaimed, "Man, those mail order compaines have some hot chicks! Just kidding!!!" Another, using the moniker Jihadlives, remarked, "He married a chank?  What's up with that?"

What we have here is the assumption that because Chan has Chinese ancestry she can't be an American. Of course not. She must be a woman Zuckerberg shipped from overseas to be his submissive bride. Times commenter accused Zuckerberg of killing his own kind by intermarrying. Ome-Coatl wrote:

"Why didn't he marry 'a nice Jewish girl?'I once read a conservative Jewish commentator say that 'America's intermarriage culture is destroying Jews more effectively than did the Nazi gas chambers.' Perhaps it was hyperbole... or was it?"

If Mark Zuckerberg Were A Black Man Named Malik Smith - What Would Be Different?

As the Facebook feeds filled with the Facebook founder getting married, The Black Man ponders the scenario if things were different.

 

What if a black male from Brooklyn,NYdecided to start a social networking site at Howard University and it turned into phenomenon nine years later with over 900 million people linked in? What if this company went public, what if this black male was worth billions, what if he was Times Magazine’s Man of the Year?

What would happen if this billionaire black male – at only age 28 – decided that he was going to get married?

Would that be shocking? Would that be weird? Would that be unorthodox? Would that be believable?

Would our community make comments about how he needs a “pre-nup?” Would women come out saying that he has a baby by them? Would his guy friends urge him not to walk the aisle? Would they tell him to play the field, enjoy the landscape of women, to pursue being a pimp and player?
